Optometrists have been utilizing monovision with contact lenses for many years and most people adapt quite well to it. Now we are seeing more and more people opting for Lasik monovision. Basically, we correct the vision in one eye for distance and the other for reading. Of course, we recommend trying monovision contacts first so you know for sure that it will work for you before we perform surgery.
NearVision CK
This is also done as monovision but laser surgery is only on one eye. If you don’t suffer from either near-sightedness or astigmatism, this is the least invasive and least expensive way to go.
Multifocal intraocular lenses
We have been using these sorts of lenses for many years to perform cataract surgery. Now we have the technology to replace a clear lens (rather than the cloudy lens of a cataract patient) with a lens that has multiple powers to correct vision problems.
